Every story, file, and time capsule is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks, hospitals, and the U.S. military. Data is encrypted in transit (between your device and our servers via TLS/HTTPS) and at rest (while stored in the cloud). Even if someone physically accessed the servers, they would see nothing but unreadable encrypted blocks.
Talebound is designed so that no one on our team can browse, read, or access your individual stories, messages, or files. Your data is protected by owner-based access controls, meaning the system only returns data that belongs to your account. There is no admin panel where we can look up a user's stories. There is no "backdoor." The only person who can see what's inside your archive is you, and anyone you explicitly choose to share with.
Your stories, files, and settings are stored in separate, isolated containers. User A cannot query, access, or even detect User B's data. This is enforced at the infrastructure level by AWS Identity and Access Management. Your uploaded documents and videos are stored in a private path unique to your identity. No other user or application can access it.
Talebound runs entirely on Amazon Web Services, the same infrastructure trusted by Netflix, NASA, the Department of Defense, and the majority of Fortune 500 companies. Our infrastructure meets SOC 1/2/3, PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001 compliance standards.
When you use AI features, your words are sent to our AI provider via a secure API. Our AI provider does not use API customer data to train their models, so your stories are never fed into the AI's learning process.
Talebound does not store your AI conversations. The chat exists only in your browser's memory and disappears when you navigate away. The only thing we save is the final story you choose to keep.
We will never sell your data, not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone. We will never show you ads. We will never share your content with anyone you haven't explicitly designated. We will never read your stories. We built the system so we can't. We will never use your words to train AI.
Use a strong, unique password and don't reuse it anywhere else. Enable two-factor authentication in your Account settings for an extra layer of protection. Keep your email secure, as it's your recovery method. Be thoughtful about recipients, because once content is released, it can't be retracted. Log out on shared devices.
Home computers can be lost, stolen, damaged by water or fire, infected with malware, or simply fail. AWS data centers have physical security, redundant power, fire suppression, and data replicated across multiple facilities. Your vault endures, so your words will too. That's the whole point of Talebound.
