Talebound is a personal storytelling and book-creation platform that helps you write your life stories, record voice and video, interview loved ones (including those navigating memory loss), gather stories from family for gift books, and order printed hardcover books containing your stories and photos.
Talebound is not a legal service, financial advisor, medical provider, or substitute for professional advice of any kind.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Talebound. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may only create one account per person. You agree to:
You own everything you create on Talebound. Your stories, photos, recordings, videos, files, and all other content remain your intellectual property. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your content beyond what is necessary to store it, display it back to you, and deliver any printed books you order.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

Talebound uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to assist with story writing, memory interviews, and memory care prompts. You understand that:
Talebound offers the ability to order a printed hardcover book containing your stories and photos. Book orders are processed through a third-party printing partner and paid for through Stripe. Pricing, shipping times, and availability may vary.
Each book is custom-printed for you. Please review your book preview carefully before ordering — once printing has started (typically within 24 hours of your order), we may not be able to pause or modify the print run, and content corrections would require a new order. We'll always work with you on next steps — see Refunds and Returns below.
Every Talebound book is custom-printed for you, so we handle each refund or return request personally — there's no rigid policy or form to fill out.
If something is off — the print didn't come out right, your shipping address was wrong, you spotted a typo after ordering, your book was damaged in transit, or you simply changed your mind — email us at support@taleboundbook.com and tell us what happened. We read every message and will work with you to find a solution that makes you happy.

Talebound provides tools for families navigating memory loss, including guided interview modes with adapted questions, sensory triggers, and day quality settings. These tools are designed to help preserve memories and stories. They are not medical devices, diagnostic tools, or substitutes for professional medical care. If you have concerns about a loved one's cognitive health, consult a healthcare professional.
You can invite family members to contribute stories to a gift book you are creating. By inviting a contributor, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason to share the invite link with them. Stories submitted by contributors become part of the gift book you assemble; you remain responsible for the final content of any printed book you order.

You may cancel your account at any time. Upon cancellation:
We recommend exporting any content you wish to keep before cancelling. We may also terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, with notice when possible.
We strive to keep Talebound available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

You agree to indemnify and hold Talebound harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Talebound after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
